Melissa's Volleyball season ends

Melissa's volleyball season has come to an end this year. She played tough and learned a lot. She played about every position she could play on the front row and sometimes on the back row. The last few weeks of the season she was playing center. She likes that position but got set very little.
During the playoffs for state the Jerome Lady Tigers lost to Twin Falls on Monday. They played awesome and took Twin to 5 games. It was close and pretty exciting. The next day they lost to Burley (they had beat them twice during the season) which put them out of the playoffs. I really wasn't looking forward to driving to Northern Idaho anyway!
Melissa has had an interesting year dealing with a lot of drama on the court. Girls crying, swearing, yelling etc. at each other. She was really excited to have made the varsity team at the beginning of the season but towards the end she was wishing she was playing with her buddies on JV. Unfortantly, we have one more year with a particular player that makes it miserable for everyone and the coaches don't seem to really care. It should be interesting to see how it all plays out.
JeNae (Tolman) Hendricks coached the freshman team and she did an awesome job! Too bad it is only for a year. Melissa had to line judge for a freshman tournament and came back said that it was nice to be a part of a team (even if she wasn't playing) that was unified and supported each other. A team that was excited about volleyball and cheered each other on. I attribute 99% of that to the coach. JaNae made those girls feel so good about themself and was always building them up. They wanted to win for her because they loved her. Complete opposite from Melissa's team. Melissa's team had too many attitudes on it and if the coach doesn't get it under control she basically loses control of the team. They are a young team with alot of potential and if they can learn to play as a team they could go far next year. We will see.....
