Fall Sports

This fall has a busy one for us between volleyball and football. Hannah has games every Monday and Wednesday, Melissa has games every Tuesday and Thursday and an occasional Saturday and Zach has games every Friday night. Alan and I switch on who goes to the away games for the girls and we are all there on home games and of course every football game.
Zach's football season this year has been a good one for him cast and all. He is in a soft cast now and only has to wear it when he practices and during the games. He loves defense and could see a little bit of offensive action when his cast comes completely off. We spanked Canyon Ridge 70 to 3 last Friday and we are hoping for a win against the mighty Bruins tonight.

Zach, Melissa and I were on floats for the homecoming parade.

Melissa was "Swirl girl" or "Swirly girl" for super hero day during Homecoming week.

Jerome has a football tradition of all the seniors (30 to 40 this year) band together, hold hands and walk out onto the field during the coin flip.

Can you say holding??????

Melissa is playing up on varsity this year and we have been on the road for every game so far this year. She is learning all kind of positions and is currently a right-side hitter. She wishes she could get set more at the net and does miss playing with her teammates on the JV team. There are only 3 seniors (out of 12) that will be graduating in 2010, so she will be playing with most of these girls again next year. They beat Canyon Ridge last night in 3 out of 4 games. The picture below is Melissa blocking a ball at the net.

Hannah has had an o.k. year in volleyball so far. Her coach is interesting for lack of a better word. Hannah works hard and has an amazing serve. We tried to get her to serve underhand in the beginning but she would have nothing to do with that and she serves beautifully now. She is a trooper and so positive.

Well that is all for now. We will keep you updated.
